BENEFICIAL BUGS PROGRAM

Details: Celebrate National Pollinator Week with us! Families are invited to explore the weird and wonderful world of beneficial insects with us from June 22-28th.
-Monday, June 22 – Summertime Kick-off with Insect Investigation kits
-Our first 12 registered participants* pick up kits and begin self-guided exploration.
-One kit per family. Supplies are limited, sign up right away!
-Pick-up instructions will be provided.
During the week, use your kits to explore and look for our pollinator posts online to learn more!
-Saturday, June 27 – Insect Q&A and Pollinator Prizes raffle
-Participants* who answer a question or share pollinator photos will be entered in our raffle to win pollinator prizes!
-We will be hosting a Google Meet online.
This is a free family activity. The FREE! Insect Investigation kits and Pollinator Prizes are courtesy of a Calvert Environmental Trust for Youth grant.
*All are welcome to participate, but only locals who can pick-up on site are eligible for kits and prizes.

BLOOM STATUS
The maze is blooming nicely and we should start seeing peak bloom around 7/18. Weather-permitting, they hope to be in peak bloom for several weeks. The cut-flower garden is busting and ready for you to take blooms home!

Details: It’s a magical summer at Annmarie Sculpture Garden this year! Everyone’s favorite events (Fairy & Gnome Home Festival, Insectival and Green Life Festival) have all been combined into one special program. This summer’s event, Enchanted Summer at the Garden running June 12, 2020 through September 7, 2020; provides the perfect outdoor activity for people of all ages that is both safe and engaging. The garden has been transformed into an enchanted forest full of surprises. Elements of fairies, insects and flowers can be discovered and explored through low-touch/no touch activity stations and multi-media experiences as your frolic through the forest.

MEAL PICK-UP – CHARLES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Details: Effective Tuesday, March 31, staff at the 11 Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) meal distribution sites can provide parents food without their child being present. However, the pick-up person must be a child’s parent or guardian. Parents/guardians must show staff their child’s CCPS student identification (ID) badge or report card copy showing their student ID number. Parents with children not yet enrolled in school should attempt to bring some type of age verification to show to site staff, such as a copy of a birth certificate. Parents can pick up the following for their child daily: one breakfast, one lunch, one dinner and a snack. Any requests from parents asking for additional meals on the same service day at other sites will not be honored.
