  1. I can honestly say I can’t even remember ever going to the circus as a child however Ringling Bros & Barnum Bailey is a name everyone knows! I have three little ones and they have never experienced the circus before but it’s definitely something they would love !

  2. I can remember going to the circus as a child and feeling complete awe at the sights and sounds of it all. The tight rope walkers were my favorite, and I remember pretending to walk the “tight rope” on the playground (it was really the edge of the sandbox). I would love my family to get to experience that one last time!

  3. I remember when the big top came to the local mall. My mother drove me to school that day so we could stop and watch them raise the tent. I remember riding an elephant that night when we went to the show.
This is a great contest thanks!

  4. It has been YEARS since I’ve been to this show. It makes me sad that my teen won’t see it. I haven’t been able to take him due to finances, unfortunately.

  5. I remember being awestruck by the trapeze artists, so high up in the air, swinging back and forth, faster and faster, and letting GO!

  6. I still have the magazine-like program from when my parents took me and my brother in the 1980’s. At that show I had decided that I wanted to be a trapeze artist. That never happened, but I did take a trapeze class in DC in 2010 (or so) and had a blast. Perhaps I should have joined the circus;-)

  7. I have mixed feelings about them closing. I did enjoy the circus when I was a little girl.

  8. I went to the circus once as a child – animals are so smart. I now prefer going to Cirque du Soleil shows, especially since they are based in my hometown of Montreal!

  9. I am so sad to see this. I grew up just down the street from the Ringling winter grounds, and my mother would drive past the place where they kept the elephants every morning taking me to school. It was always a huge excitement for me to drive by and see the handlers out walking with the animals. And I hate that … the circus is a way of life for the people who work there. It’s a culture, a family business. It’s sad that that’s ending.

  10. Wow! The theme is awesome! I am curious as to how they’re going to combine space and the circus. It’s really interesting!

  11. It sure would be nice to see this show live! It’s quite sad that this is going to be their last show. I hope that I get to catch it, I’m really interested in seeing how it all plays out!

  12. I am so sad that they are closing up shop after being around for so long. I wish I would have been able to see them when they were in my area, but sadly I missed them. I hope that you have fun when they come to DC!

  13. OMG this is amazing! I wish they could tour here in Manila, just like the Cirque Le Soliel team 🙂 We love this kind of performances. 🙂

  15. I had fun even just by looking at your photos. I can just imagine how it is seeing it in person 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
