JULY 4TH CELEBRATION & FIREWORKS- CHARLES COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS
Date: July 4, 2024
Time: 4:00PM – 9:00PM (Gates open at 3PM)
Location: 8440 Fairground Road, La Plata, MD
Details: This firework display is a thank you to the community for their support for the Charles County Fair throughout the year. Before the fireworks display, come and enjoy some great food, pony rides and outstanding live music from some local talented people. TOWN OF INDIAN HEAD- 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION & FIREWORKS

Time: 3:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: The Village Green and Pavilion- 100 Walter Thomas Road, Indian Head
Details: The Day kicks off with a Patriotic Opening Ceremony at 3:30 PM. There will be amusement ride (4PM-8PM), live entertainment (4PM-8PM), and food available for sale. No pets of any kind or alcoholic beverages permitted.

TOWN OF LA PLATA- 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Date: July 4, 2024
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: Town Hall- 305 Queen Anne St. La Plata, MD 20646
Details: This family friendly event is free and lots of fun! Have the kiddos come in their swimming suits… there will be seven different water slides, ice cream and air brushed tattoos. Facebook Link.

CALVERT COUNTY
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION – CHESAPEAK BEACH
Date: July 3, 2024 (Rain date July 6, 2024)
Time: Around 9:00 PM (DUSK)
Location: Town of Chesapeake Beach – Calvert County, MD
Details: The Town of Chesapeake Beach fireworks display is set for July 3rd at the center of Town. The display is viewable along the Fishing Creek bridge, Kellam’s field, Veteran’s Memorial Park or at one of our waterfront restaurants or resort. The fireworks are held at Dusk. Bring a blanket and a picnic for a family fun evening at Kellam’s field.

4TH AT SOLOMONS ISLAND
Date: July 4, 2024
Time: Event starts at 10AM/Fireworks between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m.
Location: Riverwalk, Solomons Island
Details: Join in for a full patriotic day of fun and celebration in Solomons! Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. Special events and activities will take place throughout the day including:
- 10 a.m. – Flag Raising Ceremony at the Watermen’s Memorial near the entrance to Solomons Island.
- 11 a.m. – Youth Bid Parade begins and concludes at Our Lady Star of the Sea (in the rear parking lot).
- Noon – Boat Parade begins in Back Creek and proceeds to the Patuxent River past the Riverside Boardwalk.
- Noon to 3 p.m. – Free Historical Adventure Quest for Kids with Revolutionary War Reenactors begins at the Corbin Pavilion at the Calvert Marine Museum.
- All Day – Visit an award winner restaurant across the island.
- 7-9 p.m. Free Live Concert at the boardwalk gazebo.
- 9:15 p.m. (appx) Fireworks begin – visible from nearly all points on Solomons Island!

FREEDOM FEST

Details: St. Mary’s Freedom Fest is an Independence Day celebration. Music, entertainment, food, activities and a grand fireworks display at dark.

RIVER CONCERT SERIES: IT’S A JOHN WILLIAMS 4TH, PLUS 1812 & FIREWORKS!!

Location: St. Mary’s College – St Mary’s City
Details: A Southern Maryland tradition, this family-friendly music festival, and winner of two Governor’s Awards for Arts, Tourism, and Community Economic Development will be held on the St. Mary’s College Townhouse Green. The programs will be on Friday evenings at 7 p.m. starting on June 21. Fireworks are planned at the conclusion of the July 5th concert.
