Visiting Cherry Crest Adventure Farm has been an annual fall tradition for our family for over ten years! Every October, we travel to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to enjoy a beautiful fall foliage train ride and spend a fun-filled day at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. With more than 70 activities to enjoy, there’s truly something for every age and interest! One of our favorite things about visiting year after year is that Cherry Crest continues to grow and expand, offering new attractions and experiences to discover each season. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate fall, make lasting family memories, and enjoy all the beauty and fun that Lancaster County has to offer!
ABOUT CHERRY CREST
Nestled in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is the perfect destination to harvest wholesome family fun! An added bonus is the Pennsylvania Railroad, which runs right through the property. You can even take a train ride to the farm or simply enjoy watching the locomotive pass by. The location was intentionally chosen for its proximity to the railroad, making the train an exciting and convenient part of the family adventure. Cherry Crest is more than just an adventure farm during the spring, summer, and fall months. It’s also a family-owned working farm, powered entirely by solar energy, with more than 300 acres dedicated to a variety of crops. With its unique combination of agricultural charm, exciting activities, and railroad history, Cherry Crest offers families a memorable way to experience the beauty and traditions of Lancaster County!
CHERRY CREST IS THE BEST
It seems like just yesterday that we took our first trip to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, even though it was more than ten years ago! The photo below was taken five years ago, and to this day, even as my boys grow into their tween years, they still love building a life-size Lincoln Log cabin. Looking back on some of my favorite memories from past visits, one of the things I was most excited about was simply relaxing in a hammock with my feet up and my baby nestled in my arms. I was blessed to recreate that sweet memory on this trip, snuggling my youngest in my arms while gently relaxing in a hammock. When you visit, be sure to take a moment to slow down, put your feet up, and enjoy a little relaxation, too!

This year, we explored the farm with my three energetic, independent boys and their two best friends. Now that the boys are older, they want to explore every nook and cranny and make sure they experience everything the farm has to offer. If you’ve ever visited Cherry Crest, you know what a huge task that can be! Just like our previous visits, I was overcome with joy knowing we could spend an entire day together in a place where everyone could have fun, relax, and even learn through play. Watching the boys explore, discover new things, and make memories with their friends made the day even more special.

2026 MAZE
This years maze celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary with a patriotic theme: Let Freedom Ring! The maze spans across 5 acres, and features nearly 2.5 miles of winding paths. This is out families favorite maze because of all the interactive checkpoints that feature slide, ziplines, and other exciting obstacles. Whether you’re navigating the maze with family or simply soaking in the patriotic atmosphere, the 2026 maze is a celebration of America, adventure, and time together on the farm.
COME HUNGRY…THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC!
The food at Cherry Crest is so delicious, I’m giving it an entire section in the article. Nothing beats fresh squeezed ice cold lemonade and hot roasted kettle corn. During the Fall season my boys loves to start off the day with fresh baked apple cider donuts found at the entrance of the park. For lunch we tend to stop at Granny’s Kitchen where you will find homemade Fried Pies and kettle chips. The chicken pot pie is absolutely scrumptious. The Barn & Grill is another favorite, the pulled pork nachos are pilled high, and the burgers are made fresh off the grill! Don’t miss the new and brilliantly placed coffee shop! You can now order a coffee while watching your little one play in Sproutville at the Brew & Moo.
FAMILY FIRST
One of the things I love most about Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is that it is family-owned and family-focused. The owners seem to think like parents, understanding the importance of hospitality, convenience, and wholesome family fun. It’s the little details that make such a big difference! From kid-friendly music playing in the background to high chairs available in the café, they seem to think of everything to help families feel comfortable and welcome. During our visit, the weather was hot, but Cherry Crest understands the importance of staying hydrated and cool. On warmer days, misters help guests beat the heat, while during the cooler months, fire pits provide a cozy place to gather and warm up.
They also offer thoughtful family amenities, including changing stations and nursing rooms, making it easier for parents to enjoy a full day of adventure with little ones. Another thing I appreciate is that the farm is closed on Sundays. While some may disagree, I think it’s wonderful that the owners value family time enough to give their employees the opportunity to spend a day with their own loved ones. In a world where family time can sometimes be hard to come by, I admire a business that makes it a priority. It’s these thoughtful touches, big and small, that make Cherry Crest Adventure Farm feel like more than just a place to visit. It’s a place where families are welcomed, memories are made, and the importance of spending time together is truly understood!
