My boys love playing pretend and dressing up! Around this time of year we are often seen at farms suited up as superheros. I always get lots of questions about where we got our adorable capes. I’m hoping that this article reaches parents in perfect timing; this is the time to order a costume for Halloween. What I like about having a ready to go costume is that they can be used not only for the Halloween holiday but throughout the year in normal everyday play. Great Pretenders is an amazing company that values the importance of play and makes high quality costumes and toys. I wrote this article so you can see why you should hero up with us.
WHY WE LOVE GREAT PRETENDERS
GREAT PRETENDERS VALUES LEARNING THROUGH PLAY
Great Pretenders was started by a mom named Joyce Keelen who noticed the lack imaginative toys for children. She decided to create “creative, pretend-play toys that would light up any child’s imagination.” Her dream has come to life in the brand Great Pretenders, which designs and manufactures award-winning toys, jewellery, and accessories. One of things that I love most about Great Pretenders is that they believe dress-up is so much more than just putting on a costume. They truly understand the power of pretend and that through play children expand their imagination and creative thinking skills.
PRODUCTS ARE MADE IN CANADA
The company is based out of Canada and all their products are made there. Everything is tested to the highest standards by their in-house safety team who work around the clock to make sure everything from our fabrics, to our beads, to the Velcro on the garments-all get tested.
ALL COSTUMES AND TOYS ARE IMPECCABLY MADE
I also love that all of their products are super simple to care for and last a long time. They are the type of costumes that can actually be passed down to younger siblings and cousins and look as good as new still. They are made to fit a variety of sizes so that the costumes grow with the child. The materials used are high quality and comfortable for children to wear. Even children with sensory needs will find the fabric to be soft and light weight.
One of the most popular and coolest ideas that Great Pretend has come up with is reversible costumes, which make dressing up twice the fun and double the value. We were sent two sets of reversible capes that have been Playful Parent tested and approved!
First I want to point out that the quality of the Great Pretender products are top of the line. These are NOT your run of the mill factory made and mass-produced costumes. You can see all the high quality details in the soft fabric used, stitching and design of the cape.
The Reversible Spider Bat Cape and Mask is an award winning costume know for it’s design. This adorable reversible cape offers two times the fun with it super versatility. One side of the cape features a stunning red satin spider web design; while the reverse side showcases a black satin side with a yellow bat emblem. The Velcro closure at the neck makes switching superheroes a breeze. The mask is also reversible. It is the perfect costume for little superheroes everywhere!
Can order this cape online for $30.99 at great pretenders under superhero gear.
