I recently discovered a few toys that make excellent tools for early learning. I often take my children to the library to play because they have some of the best educational toys. It is there, I discovered and fell in love with Lauri toys by Play Monster. The puzzles, peg toys and learning aids successfully combine fun with learning. Lauri toys are made of bright colors with attractive designs and unique textures to provide children with hours of entertainment. These three-dimensional bright rubber letters, numbers, shapes, and puzzles help children increase visual and tactile perception, color recognition, and hand-eye coordination, among other preschool readiness skills.
These toys were sent to me in order to provide a early learning play day in the community. In the fall I will host a play date so little ones between ages 2 and 5 can have a chance to work on early learning skills. These toys were tested out with a small group of friends and they have been given two thumbs up! I can’t wait to test them out with you. Date and location to be announced soon. Here’s a look at the toys…
Pegboard sets are excellent tools for working on color sorting, color matching. color recognition, color discrimination, patterning, counting, addition and subtraction as well as listening and following directions. The Lauri Tall-Stacker set came with a list of activities to try to work on these skills with your child.
Lauri puzzles and shape sorters are colorful and soft. The puzzles have two levels of play beginner and advanced. The shape sorter also comes with ideas on how to develop skills such as sorting, color matching, shape matching, patterning and math.
These magnetic sets are great for imaginative play and themes for homeschooling or classroom lesson planning. I enjoy ready stories to my kids and then using the magnetic play boards to make the story come alive.
This pack includes 40 photo action cards that help recognize basic action verbs, increase vocabulary using visual aids, promote language development and strengthens communication skills.
Lauri products began with the creation of Fit-A-Space in 1961 by a retired school
teacher. The product line provides Montessori style, educationally sound
learning activities available at affordable prices. Fans of Lauri are fans for life
and often preschool teachers, grandparents and parents of children with all
