Details: Open to accommodate guests visiting town during the Veteran’s Day parade. La Plata’s train station has long been a symbol of the founding and growth of our town. It is also the sole surviving passenger station on the Pope’s Creek Line of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad. What better place to host a museum dedicated to telling the story of La Plata’s beginning and development and the rise and decline of the Pope’s Creek Line? Step back in time to get a glimpse of the La Plata that was and the events that shaped La Plata’s path! This is the first opening of the Museum since 2019, and new exhibits are on display.
