Details: June 9 marks the anniversary of the official opening day of the Chesapeake Beach Railway and Boardwalk in 1900. Local leaders, preservationists, history buffs and railroad enthusiasts gathered for a celebration of family, fun and founders on June 9 in Chesapeake Beach to honor the first passenger run of the Chesapeake Beach railway 117 years ago.
