Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II began “putting it together” in 1943 with their opening blockbuster, Oklahoma! They went on to create some of the most beloved musicals during the “golden age” of Broadway—Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music, just to name a few. Of course, they weren’t the only collaborators on Broadway. The concert will also feature songs written by composers such as Stephen Sondheim, who were influenced by Rodgers and Hammerstein. In addition, we will be singing songs that were collaborations by other composers with either Rodgers or Hammerstein.
