Olde Tyme Lesson on Horticulture : Join us at our one-room schoolhouse for a lesson on native plants and animals of the Tidewater. (Meet at the South Gatehouse)
Noon & 3:00 pm-
– Meet the Three Sisters! Visit the Slave Cabin garden to learn more about these “sisters” and how they helped people survive. (Meet at the Slave Cabin)
10:30 am & 1:30 pm
Painting with Nature- Take a walk down to the creek as you gather natural paintbrushes to create your own unique artwork. (Meet at the Warehouse)
Noon & 3:00 pm
Bees Please! Walk through the main gardens of Sotterley and discover and examine important pollinators that fly or crawl and why these insects are important members of our eco-community.
10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Come and go, St. Mary’s County History Day Informational Workshop! Are you a St. Mary’s County homeschooler and in 6-12th grade or a parent? Find out about participating in St. Mary’s County History Day, Feb. 23, 2019. (In the Warehouse).
Other things to Explore on your own —
Land, Lives and Labor Exhibit, Slave Cabin Exhibit, Gardens, Trails, bring a picnic lunch, take pictures of nature, fly a kite, bird watch, relax and look at the views, shop at the museum store—only your imagination is the limit.
