Time: All shows start at 10:00 AM

The Town of La Plata will host five summer shows for kids at Town Hall.  The shows are geared towards preschool and elementary age children and are approximately 45 minutes long.  The shows are free and open to the public.  Shows will be held outdoors on the West lawn where the Friday night concerts take place (weather permitting – shows will not be moved indoors).  Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for sitting.  No concessions will be available, but you are welcome to bring drinks and snacks along.

 2023 Schedule

June 27th- Eric Energy

Eric Energy is the premier science entertainer in the Baltimore/Washington area. With over 20 years of classroom, camp and stage experience, Eric is a master at bringing scientific concepts to young audiences and making learning fun.

July 11th – Groovy Nate 

Groovy Nate is a children’s entertainer who creates fun and educational shows using exotic musical instruments and puppet skits— a la Sesame Street meets Parliament/Funkadelic.

July 25th – Blue Sky Puppet 

Super Pig

August 8th – Uncle Devin Show

The Uncle Devin Show® is an interactive, musical experience for children by renowned drummer and percussionist, Devin Walker. The show cultivates the minds of children through percussion instruments and is a dynamic cross between DC’s Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock!
August 15th – Rocknoceros 

Rocknoceros has entertained tens of thousands of fans around the country, performing at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and the Kennedy Center. Since its inception in 2005, Rocknoceros has won ten Washington Area Music Awards and has found its way into the hearts and homes of music-lovers of all ages.

    Dates: 2nd Saturday of every month

    Time: 11:00 AM –12:00 PM

    Location: JcPenney at St. Charles Towne Center (Waldorf, MD)

    Details: Free Craft- Monthly seasonal theme. This is not a drop-off,  kids must be accompanied by an adult. Pick-Up craft to be completed at home.

    LA PLATA SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

    Dates:

    Time: 7PM-9PM

    Location: La Plata Town Hall at 305 Queen Anne Street

    Details: Friday night Summer Concert Series will take place weekly from 7 pm to 9 pm on the lawn at La Plata Town Hall. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for sitting. Coolers are allowed, but no alcohol, please. Food Vendors will be located in the back of the parking lot. For a list of who's playing visit link. Tips bring kids in bathing suits to play in the splash pad.
