    LETS GO TO AN ARCADE

    Date: July 22, 2018

    Time: 11:30 AM - 7:00 PM

    Location: Smithsonian American Art Museum

Details: SAAM Arcade is an annual event presented by the Smithsonian American Art Museum with support from IGDA DC, MAGFest, and the Entertainment Software Association. The Arcade is a family-friendly event where hundreds of people an hour may play your game. This year, SAAM Arcade will be held on July 22, 2018 and will feature a selective group of independent developers whose works are centered on a particular theme. We have selected a group of developers to showcase their work at this year’s program, and we are so excited to share their work with you!

This year's theme for indie developers is... GAME SPACES.
Interactive media engages audiences with a variety of spaces: artistic spaces, public spaces, and social spaces, that capture the imagination and bring us together. This summer, SAAM Arcade will focus on “game spaces” as a connecting idea that links video games to art, architecture, and the museum as a space for discovery and engagement.

Disney Junior's animated family comedy "Fancy Nancy”, which debuts July 13, centers on Nancy, a high-spirited 6-year-old whose zest and enthusiasm for all that is exquisite – including language, nature, art and color – transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Excited to experience what the magnificent world has to offer, Nancy uses her ingenuity and resourcefulness to exemplify that even if life doesn’t always go as planned, it’s important to make the most of each day and encourage others to do the same. Watch the new series on Disney Junior to join the fun!

During St. Charles Towne Center’s “Fancy Nancy” themed play date, each child will be able to “make and take” a craft, listen to a Fancy Nancy book being read during story time, enjoy complimentary snacks and participate in coloring & activity sheets with stickers. Families can also choose their props and take photos/”selfies” at our photo booth. One complimentary copy of the book “Meet Fancy Nancy” will be given away to two (2) participants through a drawing after our story time ends. All crafts & snacks are while supplies last.

Simon has created a national collaboration with Disney Junior to launch Family at Simon with Disney Junior Play Dates in approximately 100 Simon Malls, Mills and Premium Outlets across the country. Disney Junior Play Dates will be held quarterly featuring a different Disney Junior character to coincide with key shopping periods.
