Details: Celebrate American Indian Heritage Day at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum on Saturday, November 9, from 11 am – 4 pm
The event, which pays tribute to the cultural legacy and societal contributions of Native Americans, will include dance demonstrations, musical performances, storytelling, archery lessons, craft activities and demonstrations of essential life skills, such as tanning hides by hand and flint knapping. This event will be held in and around the recreated Woodland Indian Village, with four traditional bark-and-pole lodges, racks for smoking meat and fish, a log canoe, and areas for pottery and stone tools. Food will be available for purchase from Caney Creek Catering.
