Explore nature and the outdoors through curiosity and play with St. Clement’s Island Museum. Modeled loosely after Forest School learning styles in Denmark and Sweden, our Nature & Forest Play for All Ages encourages exploring nature through hands-on, tactile, “no right or wrong way to play” experiences. Age is not a factor, adults need to connect with nature in relaxing, simple ways, just as much as children do. So come; look under a rock, build a fort with us, or listen to a story while you craft a stick gnome. Nature is calling you.
Most events will have natural play items available for babies and younger children, and shelter/knot tying survival materials for older children and even adults to practice and play with. Additional activities are subject to change.
Events will be outside, rain or shine, unless otherwise noted. Please dress yourself and your little ones appropriately.
Our African Heritage Festival is to bring awareness of the African culture, to educate individuals of our rich heritage, and connect to all Anne Arundel County Agencies and existing resources. There will be vendors and local businesses of all kinds, music, food, fashion show and much more. You are welcome to bring your folding chairs to be part of the experience.
Vendor opportunities are available at a minimal cost. Please contact us at (240) 564-0630 or visit our website https://www.adaonline.org/ahfest3/ for more information.

Vendor opportunities are available at a minimal cost. Please contact us at (240) 564-0630 or visit our website https://www.adaonline.org/ahfest3/ for more information.

The Playful Parent was created by Kristy a mother of three energetic boys. She has a Bachelors degree with a interest in Education and Masters in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. “I believe that children learn through play! I love to do fun things with my children and hope that sharing our adventures provides other families with inspiration and resources that lead to quality time together and a love for learning!” This non profit 501c3 organization was started so parents would have a family friendly place to come to, feel supported and leave with information that is useful. This site is kept advertisement and influence free in order to keep the page from clutter and bias opinion. Your support, feedback, likes and comments are essential; this site was designed to connect the community. The Playful Parent offers resources such as guides, calendars and ideas for making learning fun. In addition, TPP is present in the community and hosts a handful of events to support SOMD in raising healthy families.
