KIDS SUMMER SHOW

Time: All shows start at 10 AM
Location: La Plata Town Hall
Details: The Town of La Plata will host five summer shows for kids at Town Hall. The shows are geared towards preschool and elementary age children and are approximately 45 minutes long. The shows are free and open to the public. Shows will be held outdoors on the West lawn where the Friday night concerts take place (weather permitting – shows will not be moved indoors). Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for sitting. No concessions will be available, but you are welcome to bring drinks and snacks along.

Details: This free resource is available to the community every day of the week June through September 10 AM to 9 PM. If you live near by you can walk or if you need to drive, you can use the side street parking or park in the back parking lot of the Town Hall – 305 Queen Anne St, La Plata, MD 20646.

Details: Toddler time is back with a new program now known as Little Leapers! Little Leapers is a fun, high-energy play adventure, created for parents and little ones to enjoy together. You’ll love watching your child bounce, climb, and explore in a safe environment while interacting with similar age children and learning about sharing, teamwork, and other important social skills. Bond, make memories, and watch your Little Leaper thrive.

Beginning Monday, July 18, almost all Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) Lunch on Us meal sites will no longer serve hot meals that must be consumed onsite. A time change will also go into effect on Monday for curbside distribution. Adults can pick up meals between 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at eight curbside sites.

Not for kids.* About the show- From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over! Featuring an all-woman cast and all-woman band, SIX has won 23 awards in the 2021/2022 Broadway season, including the Tony Award® for Best Original Score (Music and Lyrics) and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical. SIX opens July 5, 2022. The show runs approximately 80 minutes with no intermission.

The Playful Parent was created by Kristy a mother of three energetic boys. She has a Bachelors degree with a interest in Education and Masters in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. “I believe that children learn through play! I love to do fun things with my children and hope that sharing our adventures provides other families with inspiration and resources that lead to quality time together and a love for learning!” This non profit 501c3 organization was started so parents would have a family friendly place to come to, feel supported and leave with information that is useful. This site is kept advertisement and influence free in order to keep the page from clutter and bias opinion. Your support, feedback, likes and comments are essential; this site was designed to connect the community. The Playful Parent offers resources such as guides, calendars and ideas for making learning fun. In addition, TPP is present in the community and hosts a handful of events to support SOMD in raising healthy families.
