Visiting Cherry Crest Adventure Farm is a family fall favorite of ours. Every year we take a trip up to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to enjoy a beautiful fall foliage train ride and to visit Cherry Crest Adventure Farms. With over 60 plus activities to engage in; there’s something fun for every age and every interest!  Each year Cherry Crest expands and has something new to explore.

ABOUT CHERRY CREST

Nestled right in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Land is where you will find the perfect place to harvest wholesome family fun. It’s a added bonus that the Pennsylvania Railway runs through the property. You can ride the train to the farm or just enjoy watching the locomotive travel by. This spot was specifically chosen for its proximity to the railroad line; the owners knew that it would be fun and convenient for families. Not only is Cherry Crest an adventure farm during the spring, summer and fall months, but is a family-owned and completely solar operated farm with over 300 acres of different crops!

WHY CHERRY CREST IS THE BEST

It’s seems like just yesterday we took our first trip to Cherry Crest which was over seven years ago. This photo below was taken five years ago. To this day, even as my boys grow into their tween years; they love building a Life Sized Lincoln Log Cabin. Looking back on my favorite memories from the past; I was most excited to rest in a hammock with my feet up and baby nestled in my arms. I was blessed to find my self able to nestle my youngest one in my arms this trip while relaxing back in a hammock. When you visit be sure to stop and enjoy putting your feet up too!

It was fun exploring the farm with energetic and independent boys and their two best friends this year. Now that they are older they make sure to explore every nook and cranny of the farm and want to make sure they accomplish everything there is to see and do. Which if you have ever been to Cherry Crest, you know what a huge task that is!  Just like previous years, I was overcome with joy that we were able to spend a whole day where everyone could have fun, relax and even have opportunities to learn through play. To understand better why this farm is great, you need to watch the Farm Visit Video or see pictures of the activities available. Some of our favorite activities include:

CORN BARN

BABY CHICK HATCHERY

SPROUTVILLE PLAY AREA

BARNYARD GIANT JUMP PILLOW

CORNY’S BALL-CADE

FEED MILL OBSTACLE COURSE

MUSIC BARN

TRACTOR PULL

PEDAL CARTS

GAMES

APPLE CANON

2023 MAZE

This years corn maze theme is Bee-amazed! Cherry Crest’s corn mazes offers the world’s most dynamic and interactive 5-acre corn maze with over 2.5 miles of paths, scenic bridges, and clues. There are three maze experience options: easy, intermediate and difficult. As you venture through the maze you will stop to collect puzzle pieces that will complete your map. There are also lots of fun activities scattered through out the maze to keep you entertained.

COME HUNGRY…THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC!

The farm has plenty of picnic tables if you choice to bring your own food. However, the food at Cherry Crest is delicious, so we always enjoy splurging. Nothing beats fresh squeezed ice cold lemonade and hot roasted kettle corn. During the Fall season my boys loves to start off the day with fresh baked apple cider donuts. For lunch I like Granny’s Kitchen where you will find Fry Pies. I had the chicken pot pie one and it was scrumptious. The new Barn & Grill is another favorite!

FAMILY FIRST

I love that Cherry Crest is family owned and family focused. The owners think like parents do and know the importance of hospitality, convenience and wholesome family fun. From kid friendly music playing in the back ground to offering high chairs in the cafe they think of every detail. The weather was hot but they know the importance of hydration and staying cool. On hot days they have misters blowing to keep cool. During the chiller months they will have fire pits lit to keep warm by. They have changing stations and nursing rooms. Some may disagree but I think it is great that they are closed Sundays in order to give employees time with their own families.
