The Southern Maryland Food Festival is less than a week away and it is most definitely an event you wont want to miss. If the idea of amazing mouth watering food wasn’t enough to tickle your palette, you are in luck because that’s only the beginning of the fun. The festival is a family friendly event with lots to see and do. I was amazed to hear that in addition to stuffing our faces with exquisite cuisine; there will be a plethora of family entertainment options. I put together this article to help families plan out a fun day at the food festival this coming weekend. Here’s a look at what to expect.
Food
From authentic Mexican to barbecue and board walk fries to fun cake, festival goers are sure to find something delicious. There is expected to be over 20 different local food trucks and restaurants. As well as gourmet food products, wineries and breweries.
ENTERTAINMENT
A schedule of live entertainment is lined for the festival featuring: The Fabulous Hubcaps, The Decades Band, Illusionist Reggie Rice, and More! There will also be a Kids Zone with a petting zoo, pony rides, moonbounce, and more! A little bird told me that Bunky and Blondie will be there too. Don’t miss out on the LIVE Firework Spectacular set for Saturday night!
SAFE & FUN
After speaking with the event coordinators, I learned a lot of information about how putting this event together has been a labor of love for Karen and Jeff. They have done a lot to make this event fun and safe for families. This event will follow CDC guidelines. Measures have been taken to provide opportunities for social distancing, hand sanitizer stations will be ready available through out the fair grounds, seating area will have an attend to disinfect tables after each use, they even went as far as to hire someone to bleach the bleachers before the event.
