2020 MACY’S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE

For some reason I either assumed or heard wrong information that the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade was canceled. However, the 94th Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Day Parade is indeed still on. This marvelous parade has marched the streets of New York atThanksgiving since 1924.  There are some traditions that would just be devastating if they were canceled! I couldn’t be more thrilled that Macy’s understood the importance of this tradition and took measures to make it possible.

2020 MACY’S THANKSGIVING PARADE

There are a few changes to this year’s event in order to keep things safe for participants and viewers. The parade will air nationwide as a television-only event with no live audience on NBC and Telemundo on Thursday November 26, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

I can’t wait to see all the efforts put into play. A lot of creative thinking and careful planning has been put into making this event a success. This year spectacle will be on a smaller scale, the number of participants will be reduced 75 percent. All the performers involved will follow social distancing and must wear appropriate masks or face coverings. The iconic balloons will be pulled along by specially-designed vehicles. As an alternative to the high school marching bands traveling to NYC from across the country, the parade will feature local marching bands and performers.

Check out the many different giant balloons to float by on the big screen! The Macy’s website give interesting facts about the different characters set to take sail. Both classic and new characters will be featured this year; such as Snoopy and the Macy’s Stars or Diary of Wimpy Kid and Pikachu just to name a few.

I’m equally as excited about the floats. The designs looks intricate and gorgeous. If you want a little sneak peek check out the website.
