FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH SNAP SHIPS

SNAP SHIPS

While at Toy Fair this year, we were introduced to a new line of construction and action play toys by Play Monster called Snap Ships. This inventive and fun toy is a versatile modular building system that promotes STEM play and can also be used for imaginative play. Snap Ships encourages children to build, battle and display an array of spacecrafts.

BUILD TO BATTLE

BUILDWelcome to the future…where humanity is under constant attack from a brutal alien threat. The Komplex spreads through the galaxy and growing stronger with each species they defeat and assimilate. To fight them, humanity relies on an elite team, the Forge, who pilots their own armada of spacecraft known as Snap Ships.

SHIPS 1

Snap Ships is a versatile building system designed for children ages 8+; however, the toy was a perfect fit for my 5 and 7 year old. They enjoyed creating multiple crafts with action play. Each Snap Ships set includes instruction for builds that can be assembled; however, its great that the pieces from each set can be interchangeable so kids can build ships of their own design.  After building the ships can be used engage in battle with real shooting weapon play! There’s even a mysterious piece of UJU tech included, which will make each ship even more powerful! Download the free Snap Ships app for more action play and more ship build ideas! Check out the FORGE (hero) sets here and KOMPLEX (alien) sets here.

Snap Ships are available on Amazon and the Play Monster site. Families will find them soon at Target stores, and additional retailers will be added as the holiday season approaches.

APP AND ADDITIONAL FUN

BUILD 2

The free, interactive Snap Ships app is designed as a perfect companion to the toy line. Kids are invited to “Build to Battle” using the included digital building instructions for all of the core Snap Ships kits, in addition to making their own custom ships. Kids can also track their collection, prep ships for flight in AR, and test fire weapons. The app also brings the Snap Ships into kids’ homes in full size using AR. Video game industry vets Scott Pease and Jeff Swenty (Tony Hawk series, Guitar HeroCall of Duty) invented Snap Ships and developed the app for iOS and Android.

In addition to the app, a mini series will be released on YouTube to build out Snap Ships’ immersive world/ Tp accomplish this PlayMonster enlisted the services of Wind Sun Sky Entertainment and will debut new episodes on YouTube each week beginning in August.
