On March 9, 2020 Charles County Parks and Recreation and The Playful Parent partnered together to host this years Annual Summer Camp & Activity Fair. Two years ago the dream of hosting a summer camp fair finally came to life and was the first time in over five years that Charles County residents had a summer camp fair. This year marks the third year in a row for The Playful  Parent hosting a summer camp fair! I was excited that some many families came out and were able to collect information from more than 30 different camps and programs. Just in case you couldn’t make it out to the event or maybe you had information overload; here’s all the information you need to plan out summer.

TOP EDUCATIONAL TOYS FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES

While attending the 2020 New York Toy Fair this past February, I had the honor of meeting toy inventors and touring different booths. This provided the perfect opportunity to see all the new and amazing toys on the market this year. I’m excited to share all about what toys promote learning through play. It’s so important to invest in toys that engage kids and create a love of learning. These toys are so much fun that your little ones wont even catch on that they are learning literacy or STEAM skills. These are all great toys to think about getting for the summer to prevent summer slide. Summer slide is students start to forget or lose some of the knowledge and skills they learned through out the school year while on vacation over summer. These were some of the toys donated to share about and giveaway as door prizes at the Summer Camp Fair on Monday!
