One of my favorite family traditions is attending Annmarie Garden in Light. It’s such a beautiful and interactive display. Whether you are returning again or have never seen Annmarie Garden in Lights before, you’re in for a huge treat! Annmarie Garden In Lights will transport you to an enchanted world where you will discover glowing “light sculptures” and wondrous light displays.  As you walk along the wooded path you will see illuminated wintery wonderlands, musical holiday scenes, deep sea treasures, wild animals, magical creatures, glowing trees, and so much more!

TIPS

Come bundled up. The trail is outdoors and is about a 30 minute to one hour adventure depending on what you make it. Make sure to wear coats, scarfs, hats and gloves. We even bring hand warmers on really cold nights. Since the entire trail is paved, if your children are to young to walk the trail you can bring a stroller or wagon and throw a blanket on their lap.

Before heading outside. Grab a I Spy sheet. Kids of all ages will also enjoy the Holiday I Spy guide, for some added fun! Be sure to take your time and enjoy the trail at your on pace. Pay attention to the new interactive stations!!! We really enjoyed the immersive light party and create music at our woodland piano. At the immersive light party, you can watch your shadow dance and move around. Try playing with the different colors of the shadow.

Make sure you check out the Gardens schedule of events before picking what night to go. There are some special nights such as free admission for Special Needs Night or photos with Santa Claus.

Don’t forget to check out the indoor gallery. There is a Makers Market with Christmas ornaments made by local artists, exhibits on display upstairs, children’s discover center and snack shop with hot beverages and tasty treats. The night we went they had homemade cupcakes by a local baker that were amazing. Also on the night we went Chesapeake Choral Arts Society was singing Winter Melody’s. Most weekends have a musical guest selection on the schedule.

Considering purchasing a pair of 3-D Holiday glasses for your kids. At admission we purchased a pair of glasses for each of our kids. One pair made the lights look like snow flakes while the other made the lights appear like Christmas trees.

Don’t forget your camera, there are some great photo opportunities.
