While at Toy Fair we discovered an awesome toy company that I’m excited to feature for this week’s Toy Tuesday. I’m not sure if you have heard of Green Toys or not? Either way, their motto is “Play for the planet,” What a breath of fresh air to have a company invested in making safe, earth friendly toys. I love that they believe in creating products made free of harm to children and the planet as a way to nurture young minds and bright futures! I want to share a little information about what makes this toy company one of my favorites.

A PASSION FOR PLAY

Their passion for play is what made me fall in love with their toys, here’s a few features that make them stand out.

  • They are made out of 100% recycled plastic. Their products demonstrate that something tangible can be made out of recycled materials. Green Toys primary uses recycled plastic jugs to make their toys. I think our generation is excited about saving the planet, I’m thrilled that this company is reducing landfills and putting plastic to a good use.
  • The toys are made in the USA. It’s not that often that you see toys made 100% in the United States. The company does not out sources and keeps all production steps monitored in on-site factors.
  • All the toys are BPA, PVC or Phthalates free.
  • The toys are easy to keep clean and are dish washer safe. It’s great that the toys can be cleaned in the dishwasher so that they can be kept germ free.  Making it so easy to have durable toys that can played both inside and outside.
  • The toys are made with a purpose and help kids develop important skills. Each toy has developmental skills in mind. The Ambulance & Doctor Kit for an example. Helps develop: motor skills & coordination, pro-social behavior and imaginative & pretend play.

AMBULANCE & DOCTOR’S KIT

From crafting kits to vehicles and sand toys to blocks, Green Toys has a variety of playthings for kids of all ages and interests. One of the new toys that I’m excited about is the Ambulance & Doctor’s Kit. I got this toy because I thought it would be a neat replacement for a Easter Basket this year for my nephew. I love when things can be re-purposed.

This is a 10-piece set that comes with:

I found this truck to be the sturdiest toy truck that I have ever gotten. It is made of solid thick plastic. My youngest son is rough and tumble and it survived his brutal bumps and colossal crashes.  One of the pro-social behaviors that I found it to be helpful with is teaching empathy. It was so adorable to watch my son care for his stuffed animals. He had a blast rushing his teddy bear off to the hospital and then provide them with love and care. Taking his stuffed animals’ temperature, administering medicine and giving lots of feel better hugs were all a part of the play encouraged by the ambulance. I really loved the stickers and doctor’s notepad for tracking symptoms and suggesting treatment.
