We have been attending the annual Lattes With Lambs event at National Colonial Farm for over three years now. Around March every year the farm welcomes new Hog Island Lambs and Milking Devon calves. To mark the occasion and share these adorable frolicking friends the farms hosts Lattes With Lambs in April. This event offers a great opportunity to welcome the new babies, ask questions and learn all about the farm. If you haven’t been to Lattes With Lambs before, you should definitely attend this year. I know I won’t be missing it; especially since Wee Bean Coffee will be there!!!

DID YOU KNOW

There are fewer than 200 nationally registered Hog Island sheep and Milking Devon cattle in the U.S. The Accokeek Foundation works to increase awareness about these special breeds of endangered domesticated livestock by promoting and preserving heritage breeds through a managed breeding program, demonstration, and education. Proceeds from Lattes with Lambs support the Accokeek Foundation’s Heritage Breed Livestock Conservation program.

TIPS

  • Spring time on the farm can be a splashing good time. Dress for puddles. We always wear rain boots. Don’t wear your fancy Sunday bests.
