Most of us know the story of the Jungalbook, but not quite like this. The version being put on by St. Charles High School this weekend is an adaption set on a school playground, which we all know is its own sort of jungle.
There is a character for everyone to relate to; the wise older kid trying to look out for others, the quiet loner, the wacky kid, and the bully. In this version, Sherakhan is the playground bully who has set her sights on Mowgli and won’t back down, forcing Mowgli to figure out where she really belongs.
