The Playful Parent was invited to the Be With Me- Children’s Playseum in Annapolis, Maryland last week for a sneak peek before the grand opening. I couldn’t be more excited to share all about our experience. The Annapolis site is the second location of the Playseum concept. My boys and I really enjoy visiting the Bethesda Playseum and are thrilled that there is a closer option. I hope this guide will help families with planning a visit to the Annapolis Playseum. WHAT IS A PLAYSEUM
Our family has been to many children’s museums over the past few years but had never been to anything like a Playseum before. Three years ago we visited the Bethesda location for the first time and it is definitely one of a kind. The Playseum is the perfect place to explore, learn and grow through imaginative play together with your child. Playseums encourage parents and caregivers to interact with their little ones in a way that helps them learn through play and create lasting memories. If you have never been to a Playseum before, it is special play space designed for children to use all five of their senses to engage in a positive play experience. The opportunity for hands-on fun is encouraged through exhibits that feature pretend, dress-up, baking, art, and more.
WHY WE LOVE THE PLAYSEUM CONCEPT
I don’t know about you, but I definitely have trouble using my imagination like I used to as a kid. I remember playing with my dolls and barbies for hours. Somehow, that ability to play freely got repressed as I grew older. I always get a kick out of watching my boys act out scenes with their toys. They come up with the most interesting and creative ideas. I often wish I could tap into my imagination and play like I used to in the good ole days. The Be With Me- Children’s Playseum offers that chance to be a kid again and unplug from the world in order to focus on family.
THE NEW LOCATION
I know many of you are just as excited as me for the new location to open up. Mrs. Gina and her team are anxiously waiting on one more permit before they can open! The original plan was to open in August 2018; however, plans have been pushed back a bit. I will be checking in regularly to keep everyone up to speed on the Grand Opening. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that they are given the green light soon!
Location: 2420 Annapolis Mall, Annapolis Maryland (Located in the Westfield Annapolis Mall. Park near Noodles and Company. You will find their store front across from the Starbucks.)
Hours:
- Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm
- Friday & Saturday 9am-9pm
- Sunday 1pm-7pm
Admission: $9 Per Person (Ages 1-100)
SNEAK PEEK
There is an array of different themed playrooms and activity centers for you and your little one to explore. Admission includes access to all the play areas. You can add-on extra activities (for a small fee) to customize your visit. I hope this exclusive tour inspires you to come out and explore this labyrinth of fun yourself. Can’t wait to take my grandchildren to the Playseum. I want to head to the Soap Bar first, but it looks like there are a great number of things we all will enjoy.
