We are started off the fall season early this year with an adventure out to Forrest Hall Farm this week. It is nice to visit a farm that focuses on family. This is the perfect farm for families to visit for a relaxing and fun day on the farm.

ABOUT FORREST HALL FARM

ABOUT.jpgForrest Hall Farm has been around for over 100 years, the farm was originally purchased by the Wood family in 1917. The Wood’s were primarily tobacco farmers for over 80 years until the state funded Maryland Tobacco Buyout in 2000. This is when the farm switched over to plan their future in agriculture. The focus of agri-tourism now offers a chance for guests to explore the many fun and educational activities on the farm.

ADVENTURES ON THE FARM

There is much to explore with a corn maze, kids play area, farm animals, tractor rides, corn maze and other fall festivities available in the fall. The farm also has a small market selling produce, flowers, honey and other items from April through December.

ADVENTURE 2

Sit back and relax. There are plenty of shady spots to pull up a chair and make yourself at home.

Relish in old fashioned fun. Sit back on the porch and play a game of checkers or step out on the lawn for a round of corn hole.

Zip down a slide or crawl through a tunnel.

Hop aboard a tractor or train for imaginative play.

Sensory play in a sand box (corn house closed this year.)

Meet the animals.

Make your way through a corn maze and go for a tour of the farm on a tractor ride.

TIPS

  • Don’t miss out on the fresh produces, local honey and meat for sale in the market.
  • Keep in mind if you plan to spend the day at the farm there are shaded pavilions to eat lunch under.
  • Bathrooms are located right next to the market.
  • COVID safety regulations followed, highly recommended social distancing activities.
  • Don’t forget to bring a mask for hayrides or when you can’t keep 6 feet apart.
