“Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?” Growing up watching Sesame Street and even going to Sesame Place as a kid is a special and nostalgic place to bring the kids. It was a special trip for our family to take this summer and I hope to tell you all about how to get the most out of your trip to Sesame Place in this guide.

ABOUT SESAME PLACE

Whether you’re 2 or 32, kids of all ages are sure to enjoy Sesame Place! This amusement park located in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania stretches over 14 acres and offers a variety of rides, interactive play areas, water park slides, opportunity to meet-and-greet favorite characters and even delight in shows and a grand parade.  What makes Sesame Place stand a part though for parents of young children, is that all the rides here are designed for little ones to ride. There won’t be tears of being too small or too big for that matter to go on a ride at Sesame Place. This is a big deal when going to a theme park with toddlers, preschoolers or even older siblings. When going to a theme park as a family you want there to be something for everyone to enjoy!

RIDES & ENTERTAINMENT

Sesame Place is a two-part theme park, it’s like getting two parks for the price of one. One half offers a variety of dry rides and the other half has a selection of water rides. Sesame Place has 15 dry rides and activities to choose from; which does not include the water rides. The dry rides include traditional park rides, all with a Sesame theme. Note that most rides kids 36 inches and taller can ride solo or with a supervising companion 14 years of age or older. I have color coded them blue riding with chaperone and red height restriction for older children .

Strap yourself into a UFO (Unidentified Furry Object) and ride through the stars to Planet Elmo. Launch into laughter as you bounce up to the sky and back down to earth. Height Restriction: Guests under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride.

CAPTAIN COOKIES HIGH C ADVENTURE

Ahoy Monsters! Set sail on a high seas adventure with Captain Cookie. Enjoy the rolling waves of the ocean with the speed of the wind! Height Restriction: Guests under 48 inches must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride.

ELMO’S CLOUD CHASER

This family swing ride is another great addition to the park’s Elmo’s World section, which currently features Peek-A-Bug, Blast Off and Flyin’ Fish. Height Requirement: Guest must be 36 inches tall to ride. Riders between 36″ to 42″ must ride with a supervising companion. To ride alone, riders must be 42″ tall.

FLYING COOKIE JAR

Spin around in a giant cookie jar 40 feet above the ground for a monster’s eye view of the park. Height Requirement: Guests under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride.

FLYIN’ FISH

Hop on the fins of an Elmo fish as it swims its way up and down through an imaginary ocean. Height Requirement: Guests under 48 inches must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride.

HONKER DINGER DERBY

Experience the twists and turns in colorful derby cars on this exciting ride designed for monsters 42” and up.

MIX N’ MATCH TWIDDLE TRACKS

All aboard! This kid-powered railroad is a guaranteed ticket to fun and excitement for the youngest travelers in your group. An “All By Myself” Ride, kids must wear shoes.

MONSTER CLUBHOUSE

Everyone is welcome at the Monster Clubhouse – no secret password necessary! Discover new levels of fun, climbing, and exploring on this 3-story colorful net climb. Kids and parents alike will have a monster of a good time playing together on this fun filled structure.

MONSTER MIX UP

Move and groove as you spin across the dance floor on this family favorite tea cup ride.  Height Requirement: Guests under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride.

OSCAR’S ROTTEN RUSTY ROCKETS

Even the grouchiest of grouches will giggle and glide through the straight-aways and around the curves in each trash can rocket ship. Height Restriction: Guests under 42 inches must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride

OSCARS WACKY TAXI *NEW*

Join Oscar the Grouch for a crazy, curvy taxi wooden roller coaster ride. Oscar’s Wacky Taxi™ is a one of a kind wooden-steel hybrid roller coaster with a bright yellow, taxi cab inspired train with everyone’s favorite grouch at the helm. Height Requirement: Riders must be a minimum of 40″ tall to ride. Riders under 46″ must ride in the same car with a supervising companion age 14 or older.

Spin and slide from side to side on the back of a beaming bug in the garden where Elmo plays. Height Requirement: Guests under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a supervising companion to ride. Hand-held infants are not permitted to ride.

SILLY SAND SLIDE

Upon finally squirming their way to the top, your little climbers can celebrate with a fun slide down to the bottom! Recommended for children 7 and under.

SNUFFY SLIDE

It’s kids-only fun on this double slide down to the bottom. One rider at a time, ages 12 and under only.

SUNNY DAY CAROUSEL

Jump on the Sunny Day Carousel! It’s a cute, colorful, carousel ride that’s perfect for anyone who likes a good go-round. Height Requirement: Guests under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by a supervising companion standing next to the rider on the inside of the Carousel to ride. One supervising companion per child under 42 inches. Hand-held infants are only permitted to ride on the bench seats.

VAPOR TRAILS

This adventure takes riders on a one-of-a-kind twisting, turning mission to the outer limits of the solar system. Height Requirement: Riders must be 3 years of age or older. To ride alone, riders must be a minimum of 7 years old and a minimum of 44″ tall. Riders under age 7 or under 44″ tall may ride with a supervising companion.

WATER PLAY

The water park section of Sesame Place is typically open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. This sections offers a plethora of water attractions; including slides, lazy river, small wave pool, and an interactive water playgrounds. The water section has a little bit of everything. Most rides are enjoyable for young children; however, I noticed more of the attractions in this section are designed for children 42 inches or taller. Red were rides for  guests 42 inches and taller.

MEET THE CHARACTER

Believe it or not, rides aren’t the only fun thing to do at Sesame Place. You can meet your favorite characters and take photos throughout the park, enjoy a special character-themed dining experience or even trade pins with staff members or other guests as part of the new 123 Trade With Me pin trading program. One thing you don’t want to miss is catching at least one show or seeing The Neighborhood Street Party Parade. We really enjoyed watching the parade that fills the streets with music, dancing, huge floats, and all your favorite furry friends!

DINING

One thing I noticed is that on every corner is a spot to stop and refuel. There are so many great food options for eating in the park. Most of the options are your typical park foods that kids love such as; pizza, hot dogs, burgers, and fries. There are healthier options too though, you will find fresh fruit cups, sandwich and salads in the cafes. Smaller vendors sell tasty treats ranging from popcorn to ice cream and cookies to slushes.

AUTISM CERTIFIED & SERVICES

Did you know that Sesame Place is the first park in the world to be designated as a Certified Autism Center (CAC). Sesame Place works hard to ensure a enjoyable and memorable visit for all guests of all abilities! Here are a few services provided to guests with autism and other special needs and where to locate them:

• Be sure to check in at Guest Services right before entering the park. They will be able to give you information about special services available for your family such as (RAP) Ride Accessibility Program.
• Check out the quiet rooms located by the boys locker room near Big Birds Rambling River.
• Handicap accessible parking and wheel chair rentals are available on site.
