Father’s Day is less than a week away. If you are looking for something special to give to dad in honor Father’s Day here is a really quick, affordable and super cute idea! This year I wanted to make our own cards so I came up with a modified version of a craft I had seen done in the past. I hope you enjoy this Father’s Day Footsteps Craft, that will inspire the tiniest foot to follow in their daddy’s footsteps.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Large scrapbook sized paper in your choice of color. Dark colors are best! Remember dad’s foot will probably be too big to fit on standard construction paper.
  • Craft paint or stamp pads for child’s foot print. I recommend against finger paint it wont last over time and doesn’t show up thick enough. I used a face paint-pen by Snazaroo because I was in a pinch; however, it worked like a charm.
  • Dad’s Shoe
  • Paint brush
  • Marker
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Crayon or pencil

HOW TO MAKE YOUR FATHER’S DAY FOOTSTEPS CRAFT

  1. Using a crayon or pencil trace the bottom of dad’s shoe on a large piece of paper and cut out.DSC_0051.JPG
  2. Next apply paint to bottom of your little ones foot and press their foot on the paper aka footprint you cut out earlier. Make sure to hold down long enough to allow for the entire foot to leave an imprint. DSC_0054.JPG
  3. Set aside so the paint can dry. Most paints take about 10-15 minutes, the Snazaroo Facepaint dried in a less than five minutes! DSC_0062.JPG
  4. Once the paint has dried press the footprint cut out on to decorative paper using a glue stick. DSC_0068.JPG
  5. Last but not least add words, poem or scripture of choice to make it special. I wrote “Following in Daddy’s footsteps.” I also like the verse Proverbs 22:6. Be creative and have fun making it personalized. DSC_0078.JPG

TIP: I suggest doing step 2 in the kitchen or bathroom to avoid mess and it’s more convenient to be near a sink.
