This years event marks the first summer camp fair in Charles County for over five years. As both a parent and a counselor in the school system, I see this event as essential. Every family in the county should have access to information on summer camps and programs available to the community. I have been wanting to host a summer camp fair for a few years and I’m excited that my site The Playful Parent has finally brought this dream to life! The Playful Parent is a free resource page that is dedicated to advocating learning through play and promoting family bonding. I’m excited to bring events to the community that encourage a love for learning. This years summer camp fair has 20 organizations in attendance and over 20 amazing door prizes. Grand Prizes include educational games from BlueOrange, Chick-fil-A gift basket, dinner for two at Texas Road House, Day Out With Thomas Tickets at B&O Railroad and Family pass to Escape Velocity. The first 100 families to come will get a goodie bag full of surprises from our sponsors; BlueOrange Games, Texas Road House of La Plata and La Plata Sonic.
