Putting together an Easter Basket is always a lot of fun, I love adding toys that are interactive in my kids baskets. Board games are always a great choice. I may be biased since we are a bunch of board game nerds and have an entire closet full of board games (no joke!) That being said, there’s no denying that adding to your board game collect is always a bonus! Family board game nights are a great way to bond and make fond memories. Not to mention, board games help with social skills such as turn taking and good sportsmanship… Which I might add, is great for working on sibling rivalry. Also, depending on the board game work on a variety of skills such as; color identification, math skills,  problem solving, etc. I thought that it would be fun to suggest Easter/Spring themed games for my readers, especially ones with chicks or bunnies! If you are looking for a game to put in your child’s Easter basket this year, here are my top three picks for kids ages 3 and up!

EBG- BUNNY PLAYOBJECT OF THE GAME
In this cooperative game, everyone helps the bunny pick the best carrots to bring home to his family, plucking them from the box just like you would from the ground. The trick with carrots? You need to test them first to find the most delicious ones! Make sure to pick carefully all the bitten carrots are for the bunny, while the untouched ones are for the farmer who is also working in the fields. Line up the bunny’s carrots at the end of the day and compare them with the farmer’s harvest to see who picked the tastiest bunch! This adorable game is perfect to teach teamwork and counting.

WHY I LOVE THE GAME
What makes this game stand apart is that it’s a cooperative game, meaning the players have to work together to win. With little ones close in age, it’s great to have a game where they need to collaborate instead of compete. This game really and truly is great for early maths skills. It starts by moving the bunny around the board and working on number recognition as the bunny moves to different labeled spaces. As you gather your carrots you will be counting as you’re collecting. Lastly, at the end of the game you will be lining the carrots up and measuring who has the longest line of carrots. This is a great way to work on measuring in a fun way. This game is made very well. I love the art work and attention the creators took to detail. I find it a huge bonus that the directions are placed permanently on the inside of the box, so losing the directions is eliminated from the equation. I like keeping my games well-organized and always appreciate when games give you a great way to store the pieces. Also, the game board is secured into the box and the all the little pieces come in zip locked bags.

Kids will jump for joy when they meet Jumping Jack, the world’s cutest bunny! Spin the spinner to see how many carrots you get to pick from Jack’s bunny hill, but don’t make him jump! If Jumping Jack jumps out of his hole on your turn, be sure to catch him. If he’s not caught, then whoever has the most carrots wins the game.
EBG- JACK BUNNYWHY I LOVE THE GAME
This game is completely adorable. I loved watching my children laugh and smile ear to ear as Jack jumps up into the air. This game is great for fine motor skills, they have to use grip and grasp strength to push the carrots into the holes when setting the game up and for pulling when they collect carrots.

OBJECT OF THE GAME
This wacky, quacky matching game combines developmental skills for young children with the fun of a “My First Game.” Lucky Ducks offers all the benefits of memory and matching games in a format that’s easier for little fingers than cards. As a bonus, it helps kids with shape recognition and colors. Switch on the circular pond, and the ducks start swimming–the bottom side of each duck has a colored shape. Players take turns picking up a duck and looking at the color and shape; if it matches their color and shape they get to keep the duck. If it doesn’t match they put it back. The ducks continue to swim so it’s more challenging than a traditional memory game, but easy enough for even the youngest duck lovers to play. This extra challenge makes the game more fun for parents and kids to play together, with plenty of opportunities for fun and learning.

WHY I LOVE THE GAME
This game is easy to love, especially since it’s completely adorable. What I find really great about this game is that it is easy to set-up. You simply place the ducks and the pond, hit the red button to start the fun. Another great thing about this game is that both my three-year old and five-year old enjoy playing it. It keeps the easily distracted attention span of my youngest while still being challenging enough and fun for my older son.
