BIG APPLE CIRCUS DETAILS

The BIG APPLE CIRCUS is coming to National Harbor March 8 – April 1, 2018. The 40th anniversary season program features the famous seven-person pyramid on the high wire with 10-time record-holder Nik Wallenda and the Flying Wallendas, daredevil roller skating, and a flying trapeze act. The nearly two-hour performance also includes live orchestra music and amazing performances by beloved rescue dogs, horses and ponies cared for by their certified trainer, Jenny Vidbel.  Make memories and begin a new tradition this spring when the Big Apple Circus comes to Washington, DC!

WHAT’S NEW

The Big Apple Circus goes outside of the ring to connect with the community with multiple outreach programs and a essential no-wild-animals policy.  They also offer a Circus of the Senses which provides experiences for audiences of abilities making their shows friendly for autism, visual and auditory challenges. Select performances include assistive listening devices with live audio commentary, ASL interpretation, pre- & post-show touch therapy experiences, and even a Braille program book is available. Sensory-friendly performances will also feature softer sound levels, lower lighting and a “calming center” that can be accessed at any point during the show.  The Embracing Autism Performance will take place Sunday, March 10, 2018.
