Self-care is one of the most important keys to reducing stress. As moms we often put our own needs last; however, it’s important to make the time for rest and relaxation. If it sounds like too much of a luxury; you will be comforted and feel less guilty for pampering yourself after hearing that winter nail care is actually a necessity. Winter is surprisingly the harshest season when it comes to fingernail, toenail and cuticle health. Due to the lack of moisture in the air, prolonged exposure to cold temperatures and harsh winds..nails, cuticles and skin are in need of extra attention.
#2 FRESH NEW LOOK
Tropical Nail Salon celebrated it’s grand opening at their new location in the upper level of St. Charles Towne Center recently in October 2017. I’m in love with the new location for a few reasons. The first being that it’s in a convenient location for if you want to get in and out super quick. Tropical Nail Salon is across the hall from the Sleep Number Store. When parking you should park your car at the North side enterance between Macy’s Department Store and Dicks Sporting Goods. Another reason I love this location is that being on the upper level provides the oppurtunitiy for windows letting in natural light. The last reason I love the new location is for the new look. The design of Tropical Nails is modern, sleek and elegant and they always have fresh cut flowers.
#3 WALK-INS WELCOME
Planning ahead for a trip to the spa or salon is never easy for moms. Each day is a surprise, you never know when you will get a free moment to pop on over for a mani / pedi. The new location is spacious and accomodating, the main manicure area can seat more than a dozen guests.
#4 PRIVATE PARTY
The topic of appointments leads to the fourth reason Tropical Nails will knock your socks off. The new location has a private room for guests who book special treatments or parties. If you are looking for a fun girls night out or even a team building activity for work this could be the perfect solution. (I’m sure you are wondering what those things are that are hanging from the ceiling…They are special fume vents that help reduce toxins in the air. It’s nice that they thought to include these.)
#5 PROFESSIONAL STAFF
I really enjoyed my conversation with the owner Van. It was interesting to listen to the joys and concerns of moving to a new location in the mall. He is a very interesting young man who has done a lot of world travel and understands the importance of appreciating what we have and taking moments each day to embrace the positive. Van hopes to provide clients with the oppurtunity to take a break from stress to relax. After meeting many of the technicians I was equally impressed with their professionalism and friendly manner and can tell this philosphy of positive attitude is embraced by the employees.
#6 LUXURIOUS ESSENTIALS
I’m stoked that they use a lot of all natural and organic products. The featured pedicure of the month offers a organic mandarin honey scrub, masque and lotion. I couldn’t be more thrilled that they offer products that are paraben and phosphate free.
#7 NATURAL REMEDIES
I was taken back by the use of natural remedies. My foot bath had slices of fresh lime in it. The lime was also used as a cutical treatment. Another subtle yet amazing bonus was that the warm towels had a hint of essential oil for aroma therapy. I enjoyed the light scent of lemon grass and lavender.
#8 SPA SNACK
The Spa package that I received had a complimentary spa-snack and beverage. The fruit was super fresh and delicious. It was the perfect treat to stay hydrated and refreshed.
#9 AFORDABLE PRICES
There are services for every budget and need. A basic manicure starts off at just $18 and includes shaping, massage and polish!!! It’s great that if you are tight on money or even time they offer a pedicure for under $20. They also have packages for those that would like to be pampered. My favorites are always the ones that include a massage!
#10 Long Lasting Look
I don’t know what it is about a pedicure from a salon but it always seems like they last longer than the ones I do at home. My pedicures always last two to three weeks when done at Tropical Nail Salon.
