All seven Charles County Public high schools have their shows scheduled for this fall. It’s a great line up and sure to be entertaining. Come out to enjoy a show and support youth in the arts.


WESTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL- GAME OF TIARAS


Game of Tiaras

November 2-4, 2017 at 7:00 PM

Details: This play is an adaptation of the production of “King Lear.” The show sets stage in a magical kingdom in which tragedy strikes after an aging king decides to split his land among his three daughters. MCDONOUGH HIGH SCHOOL- PETER AND THE STARCATCHER

LACKEY HIGH SCHOOL- DEATH BY CHOCOLATE

Details: The show features drama, comedy, murder, mystery and romance, and takes place in a local coffee shop, the Precious Perks Coffee Shoppe. The show follows the main character Nick, a private detective, as he investigates the death of a man who was poisoned with the shop’s signature coffee, Death by Chocolate.  Call 301-743-5431 for more information.


NORTH POINT HIGH SCHOOL- M*A*S*H

Details: The show follows the members of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital stationed on the front lines of battle during the Korean War. ST. CHARLES HIGH SCHOOL- WORLD WAR II RADIO CHRISTMAS


December 1-3, 2017 with show times of 7:00 PM Dec. 1-2 and 2:00 PM Dec. 3.

Tickets: General Admission $8/ $5 for students, senior citizens and military members.

The show is family friendly and sets stage during World War II. Student actors will recreate the experience of attending a live 1940s radio broadcast on Christmas Eve during World War II.   Call 301-753-2090 for more information.


TIPS


  • Teachers with a badge get FREE admission. This is for employees only.
  • Many of these shows are family friendly. Keep in mind that every child is different, I recommend bringing children who have a developed attention span. Fall shows typically don’t have music and last about an hour and a half in length.
  • Be prepared that if you see the last performance of the show there will be time spent at the end of the play to show appreciation to the director and production staff. This means after bows you might stay extra time to hear a speech or see flowers/gifts given out.
