SERENITY FARM: PLAYFUL PARENT GUIDE

SERENITY FARM

Located right in Benedict, Maryland Serenity Farm sits peacefully along the Patuxent River. This historic working farm offers home grown produces and fresh meat sold seasonally.  Serenity Farm understands the importance of providing children with opportunities to learn about how food is grown and where it comes from. The Robinson family opens their farm to the public in hopes to provide educational information on agriculture. One of the best times of the year to visit the farm is in Autumn during their fall celebration Kasper’s Kastle.

KASPERS KASTLE

Kasper’s Kastle is an annual event that the Robinson family has been hosting for over 20 years, that offers a chance for the public to visit the farm in the fall. Open on weekends October 14, 2017 through the end October from 10AM – 5PM, guests can visit the farm to  tour Kasper’s Kastle, enjoy hayrides, petting zoo, face painting, hay bale maze, slide and pick a pumpkin.

OUR TRIP TO THE FARM

When we arrived to the farm we followed the signs to park by the Harvest House and made our way inside to purchase tickets.  A tractor pulled hayride comes around about every 15 minutes to pick up guests and bring them around the farm for a tour. I took some adorable photos of the boys while we waited for our ride to arrive.

We climbed aboard our lovely hayride for a fun trip around the farm. Our first stop was at the petting zoo.

Make sure that you bring some cash so that you can purchase a cup or two of food to feed the animals. It’s only 50 cents to buy a cup of food which might go pretty quickly depending on how hungry the farm friends are.

My little ones enjoyed feeding the goats and donkeys. There were also friendly llamas whom however were less inclined to be bothered.

We hopped back on the hayride and traveled to our next destination…kasper’s kastle. A leader guided us through the kastle where we got to meet exciting characters such as sponge bob, Elsa and Kasper himself!

I really enjoyed our walk through the kastle and tried to take my time to admire the beautiful paintings and fun displays.

At the end of the Kastle tour everyone, even the adults got a awesome goodie bag.

After exiting the Kastle the kids enjoyed some free time to play on the slide, explore the haybale maze and get their face painted. Since it was lunch time we enjoyed the concessions available. For only $10 all four people in our group got a hot dog, chips and a cupcake, can’t beat that!

We ended our excellent adventure by picking the perfect pumpkin and taking a hayride back to the car.
