Last year on our road trip traveling down from Massachusetts, we stopped at a Bass Pro Shop. We had such a great experience the last time we visited that it was a must to stop for this years trip too. It truly is the perfect place to get out and stretch your legs, grab some grub and entertain the kiddos. The Bass Pro shop is conveniently exit 29 right off of I-95 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I have always enjoyed taking the boys to the Bass Pro Shop closest to our home at the Arundel Mills Mall because it’s free adventurous fun.
I’m sure you will be quite taken aback by this amazing place as I was the first time I stepped foot in the Bridgeport Bass Pro Shop. The first thing that caught my eye was the creative and vibrant hand painted murals that wrap around the entire store with scenes that depict the beauty of Connecticut.
As you tour the store don’t forget to check out the amazing freshwater aquarium, beautiful waterfalls and wildlife mounts. Fish feedings take place most Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. I was surprised that there is also an in house archery range. Just like the Bass Pro Shop closer to home My little sailors had a blast climbing up on the boats and pretending they are at sea. They also enjoy hopping on an ATV and imagining that they are a part of the Paw Patrol on a mission.
My favorite thing to do at the Bass Pro Shop is bowl! Be prepared to be astonished as you step foot into the bowling alley. You will feel like you are underwater with the amazing murals and life size aquarium decor.
There are 12 lanes each uniquely designed so that the ball returns are shaped like different creatures. Our ball release looked like a shark, but others were shaped like crocodiles and octopi.
Don’t worry about stopping at two different places for entertainment and lunch because it is all right in one location. I had never been to a Bass Pro Shop with a restaurant before. This location features Uncle Bucks Fishbowl and Grill. You can dine in the restaurant or eat your food while bowling or playing a round of pool.
The facilities are very clean and keep with the pro shop theme. They have everything you need from large stalls to diaper changing stations.
