The Playful Summer Series is a program was created by The Playful Parent to encourage learning through play and to provide opportunities for family bonding. Free or majorly discounted programs have been planned to help make summer fun more affordable and easy to access.
Summer Luau

Details: Let’s celebrate the start of summer with a pool party. Join us at the best aquatic center in Maryland for a splashing good time. Little ones are sure to enjoy the slides and water features not to mention prizes and giveaways!

Family Fun Night

Location: Blue Crabs Stadium
Details: Enjoy a night at the Blue Crabs and have a ball at Family Fun Night!

Fossils & Friends

Location: Calvert Marine Museum
Details: Tour the Calvert Marine Museum with friends. Enjoy exploring the museum followed by a meet up for lunch and story time afterwards.

Alice & Wonderland Tea Party

Location: La Plata Town Hall
Details: The town of La Plata hosts children’s shows throughout the summer. The Playful Parent will be at the Alice & Wonderland Show to provide snacks and refreshments, activities to advocate the importance of reading and give out prizes!

STEM Program

Location: Patuxent Air Museum
Details: Join The Playful Parent for a tour around the Patuxent Air Museum and meet up afterwards for a snack and STEM activities.

A is for Astronomy

Location: James E Richmond Science Center
Details: Enjoy a night dedicated to astronomy. There will be engaging activities followed by a full dome show in the planetarium.
