SpartaCon III Fan Convention Returns to Waldorf, Maryland!
The biggest, most exciting Roman gladiators fan convention returns for a third year. SpartaCon, inspired by and supporting the Starz Spartacus series, returns April 29-30, 2017 to the Blue Crabs Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland.

SpartaCon is the only dedicated Spartacus fan convention in the U.S., supporting fans of ancient Rome and Greek history, culture, fantasy, and the “sword-and-shield” genres, such as Spartacus, Rome, Gladiator, 300, and other similar television series and movies. With several actors from the series in attendance, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase autographs, professional photo ops and VIP passes. In addition, special panels, workshops and demos, such as train like a gladiator where guests will learn basic sword and shield techniques, will be offered during this special weekend.
The convention will take place in Southern Maryland at the Blue Crabs Stadium in Waldorf. The baseball stadium will allow for plenty of vendors and artists to show off their unique creations in our SpartaCon Marketplace, as well as use the field itself for the Primus Gladiatorial Games. This event is the cornerstone and unique factor that the SpartaCon convention offers attendees. Each evening will feature a live action gladiator show, with professionally trained fighters, stuntmen and women, fighting as gladiators in the arena for the title of Champion.

There will be several workshops including Earn the Mark Fundamental Battles of Gladiatorial Combat, Leather crafting, Roman legion marching drills and much more,” says Kelly McLeod Montgomery, Founder and CEO of The Red Serpents.
Celebrity guests for SpartaCon include Simon Merrells (currently Knightfall and Dominion), Dan Feuerriegel (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Cryptic), Barry Duffield, and cast fitness trainer, Tyrone Bell; and more. The Red Serpents are currently looking for vendors, artists, performers, and also sponsors. Tickets for the convention are on sale now.

The Red Serpents are fans of ancient history, and culture. In August of 2015, they hosted their first convention for fans of the Starz television series, Spartacus in Waldorf, Maryland. Their mission is to host fan conventions that demonstrates the fighting techniques of various ancient cultures, and to display artistic creations and interpretations in the areas of armor making, leathering, paintings, drawings, comic books, film screenings and much more.
