PAMPERING THE PLAYFUL PARENT- A LITTLE MOM-ME TIME!

We live in a world where moms and dads have to balance so much. When you are at home all day constantly focused on your children: feeding, pottying, diapering, clothing, disciplining, playing and more all day long…it’s important to step back and take some time for yourself. We often dismiss even the most basic necessities for ourselves as parents. Raise your hand if… you’ve skipped taking a shower because you were caring for a newborn, gave up your gym membership so the funds could go to dance lessons or skipped a meal all in the line of duty. Self care includes the simple things like getting enough sleep or eating healthy meals; however, it also consists of our emotional, spiritual and physical needs as well. I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times but if you don’t take care of yourself first you can’t take care of those around you.  It’s like when you are on an airplane the flight attendants always explain: If you don’t put your oxygen mask on first, you won’t be there to help the other people next to you. You will be unconscious!
