Tonight I had the honor to get a firsthand look at the hard work that the cast and crew at St.  Charles High School has been putting into their fall musical this season. Little Shop of Horrors is set to perform a deviously delicious show this Halloween Weekend! Solid direction, energetic choreography and talented cast, paired with elaborate props, fun set and gorgeous costumes make for a memorable night of entertainment. It’s the perfect thriller to cozy up to on a date night or a fun family show for those with older children.

For those of you who haven’t seen this sci-fi musical before, here is a little synopsis about the show. In this campy musical based on a 1960’s horror film, a nerdy floral assistant Seymour discovers, cares and nourishes an exotic plant, which he names “Audrey II” after his beloved co-worker and secret crush. This carnivorous plant promises fame and fortune to Seymour as long as he keeps feeding it…BLOOD! Come out to the show this weekend to see how the story ends.

Tips:

Bring extra cash to splurge on treats. The booster club always sells amazing baked goods for their fundraiser.

There will be an intermission so you can plan your visits to the facilities accordingly.

I enjoy going to opening night on Friday or a matinee on Saturday because the performers always have a lot of energy and excitement. Sunday performances for high school productions tend to have more family support as there is typically a small recognition to cast, crew and production staff at the end of the show.
