I love that this farm has so many fun activities for kids of all ages. There is a special section for young children where you will find two corn boxes under shade. Also there are two of the most adorable play ground sets that I have ever seen shaped like a tractor and a plow. Don’t forget to check out the straw jumping pit; where your little one can run, jump and dive into straw.

The petting zoo is located in an open barn with various animals; this is a perfect place to meet new farm animals big and small. From sheep to chickens and piglets to rabbits they have tons of furry and feathered friends to meet. A friendly staff member is there to answer questions and help children learn about the animals.

I think this farm has our favorite tractor ride! It’s the only tractor-train ride I’ve ever seen! My boys were in heaven on the Corn Maze Express, a tractor designed to look like a locomotive that takes you on an adventure around the farm. My boys nearly jumped out their seats when the engineer blew the whistle. The shrill of joy and giggles over the trains peeping and tooting were my favorite memory at Bowles Farm. Our tour guide even took us on a special tour through the barn where they keep all their tractors. If you are a John Deer fan than you’d be in heaven!

Bowles Farm is where you will find Southern Maryland’s Largest Corn Maze, come see why getting lost is so much family fun! There are three difficult levels to make adventuring throw a corn maze fun for all ages and attention spans. The kiddie maze is designed for toddlers to school aged to explore with a parent. Phase 2 is great for those who want a challenge but don’t like getting overwhelmed or spending a great deal of time in a maze. Older school aged and middle schooler’s would love this phase. The third phase is the most challenging rout and takes more time and brain storming. This year’s theme is “It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.”

Right next to the mazes are the slides. These tunnel slides are built right into a natural hill. My boys were burned a lot of energy by climbing the hill and sliding back down over and over again. There is also a kids barrel ride that is much fun. The barrels are big enough for adults to ride along with the wee ones or for kids to ride solo.

There is a four season barn that is beautiful enough to have a wedding at that is set up with tables. You can pack a lunch or get food at the concessions window. This is also where you will find in door bathrooms and changing stations. In an adorable store next to the food barn is The Farms Daughter Cupcake bakery. We were spoiled with the selection of assorted cupcakes and decadent chocolate covered strawberries.

Don’t forget to take your picture with sponge bob or Peanut Characters. Bowles goes out of their way to make the farm family friendly and stick with this year’s Peanuts theme. A trip out to Bowles farm is definitely a great way to celebrate Schultz 50th anniversary of It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
