My family made plans to stay in Charlotte for a night as a break from driving on our way from Maryland to Georgia. We love Charlotte because it’s a fun and beautiful little city rich with art, culture and history. From sporting events to museums and gardens to galleries there is something to do for visitors of all ages. We chose to stay at The Residence Inn Charlotte Uptown by Marriott this trip.

I was so impressed by this hotel that I really don’t know what to share about first. From the hospitality to well designed rooms your stay here is sure to be a positive experience. I felt the staff genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. When we checked in, the front desk clerk made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. He reminded me about services available for guests such as grocery delivery and shuttle bus services.

We were put in a newly renovated spacious suite that was both trendy and functional. The room had a full sized kitchen and living room area attached to two bedrooms each with their own queen bed and full bathroom. It was nice to have a separate room for the boys to sleep in; which definitely made it easy to provide the little ones with a quiet space during nap times and bed time. It was also convenient having a full kitchen, you never know when your minions will grow thirsty or hungry. The set up truly feels more like a home away from home instead of a hotel.

The continental breakfast was another plus. The seating area is comfortable, relaxing and spacious for even larger families to sit and enjoy breakfast. The buffet had so many breakfast favorites to choose from. Quick and easy options such as cereal, fruit and yogurt are ready for those on the go. Or if you’d like to stay and take it slow you can make a waffle or fix a plate full of warm comfort food such as: eggs, bacon and biscuits with gravy.

One of my favorite memories of the hotel is seeing the boys admire the view out the window. They got excited about seeing a lI’ve baseball game from the room. I was amazed that despite being in the city the rooms were great at blocking noise. With excellent sound barrier and comfortable bed everyone got much needed restful sleep.

Another favorite memory was exploring Uptown. The whole family enjoyed walking right across the street to explore the park with beautiful gardens and fun fountain with water features the kids could run through.

I felt like we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. Next time we visit Charlotte we will definitely be staying here…our home away from home.
