To all my foodies out there you will definitely want to read this article when planning a trip to Plymouth. Our family loves to eat and after spending a week in Plymouth, have tasted enough plates to share our top favorite breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert spots. Each location was picked based on its ambiance, culinary flavor, presentation, service and family friendliness.

Breakfast at Blue Blinds Bakery
7 North St., Plymouth
www.blueblindsbakery.com

This is one of those restaurants that I wish I had in my home town. I would probably gain a lot of weight if I lived in Plymouth because I’d eat at Blue Blinds every morning! This bakery is beautiful and welcoming. From the moment you step foot on the gorgeous front porch you feel right at home. There are rocking chairs to relax in and tables to eat at.

The inside is warm and inviting as well with two fireplaces that give the bakery a historic feel. The café is furnished with antique tables and relaxed seating options that are both simple and elegant.

The artisan coffee was flavorful and bold and the breakfast options delicious and homemade.  The morning menu is so popular they offer breakfast all day. From pastries to quiche or bacon and eggs to waffles you can’t go wrong. Our family shared bites of each other’s food and it was hard to choose a favorite; everything was so good. Not only is the food scrumptious but it’s also healthy. Blue Blinds uses the best ingredients serving fair trade coffees, organic eggs and flour and meats that are hormone free.

Service is warm and friendly and welcoming to families. The kids enjoyed devouring their breakfast while people watching on the porch.

Lunch at KKatie Burgers Bar

38 Main St., Plymouth

www.kkaties.com

After reading raving reviews we decided to give KKatie Burgers a try. When I first walked in I was a bit apprehensive only because of the seating. KKatie’s is a small casual sport bar/restaurant type atmosphere with mostly bar seating. I was curious how seating would work for our family of littles since half the seats were bar height tables. Boy was I wrong, they are prepared to seat families at booths or tall tables. The waitress brought out a mega highchair tall enough to fit the table.

The amazing aroma of the grill will definitely make you hungry. The menu has so many choices that it was hard to make a decision for which burger to pick. The kids menu had some great options for little bellies too and also served as a coloring page. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. I swear the best burger I have ever had was at KKatie’s. I ordered the Hawaiian burger with pineapple and teriyaki sauce…yum! All burgers come with fries of course but you can upgrade to tots, sweet potatoes fries or truffle fries. I highly recommend truffle fries; fresh cut fries drizzled with olive oil, Parmesan cheese and garlic. The only downside to the meal being so good is you won’t have room for dessert.

Dinner at Cabby Shack

30 Town Wharf Rd., Plymouth

www.cabbyshack.com

This restaurant is so much fun! With fun nautical murals, aquariums and décor your kids will have much to look at and stay entertained by. The restaurant is in the perfect location for eating outdoors. Most summer nights there are featured performs so you can listen to music while enjoying dinner with bay views.

It was important to find a great place to enjoy Massachusetts cuisine. The Cabby Shake was the perfect choice to order great surf and turf options. The kids menu is fun and full of tasty choices. I found it cute that after your little one makes a happy plate there is a treasure chest for them to pick a treat on the way out.

Dessert at Peaceful Meadow Ice Cream

170 Water St, Plymouth
http://www.peacefulmeadows.com

Nothing is more delicious than fresh homemade ice cream. Peaceful Meadows makes their ice cream, chocolate and syrups fresh at Whitman farm. Established in 1920, Peaceful Meadows lives up to its name as the best ice cream in Plymouth. With over twenty different flavors to choose from everyone in the family is sure to find a favorite flavor. The serving sizes are very generous; one scoop is enough for two. The shop doesn’t have indoor seating but picnic tables and benches are available outside.

BON APETIT!
