As I rest in a hammock with my feet up and baby nestled in my arms I soak in this precious moment. How often do parents find time to relax while on vacation? This experience came as a surprise to me. I expected a fun filled day with every second jam packed with adventurous and energetic fun. I’m over come with joy that we found a place where everyone could have fun, relax and even have opportunities to learn through play. Cherry Crest Adventure Farm was the perfect destination to start our journey.

Nestled right in the heart of Pennsyvania Dutch Land this working farm is the perfect place to harvest wholesome family fun. It’s a added bonus that the Pennsylvania Railway runs through the property. You can ride the train to the farm or just enjoy watching the locomotive travel by. This spot was specifically chosen for its proximity to the railroad line; the owners knew that it would be fun and convenient for families.

Cherry crest has a way with cultivating learning and agricultural awareness through activities that are hands on and fun filled. During the Summer/Fall season tickets are only $17 for ages 3 and up. Ages 2 and under are free. Admission includes over 50 activities, free parking and a souvenir photo. Our favorite activities are:

Giant Hay Bail Chute

Little Farmer Play Land

Jump Pillow

Corny’s Ball-Cade

Don’t miss out on brand new activities available this summer…. The apple canons are the bomb! My boys were fired up to launch apples at targets with a giant air gun. Put your muscle to the test with a new section that show cases feats of strength and one of the five simple machines. Explore the science of the Pulley with the tractor pull and hoisting a hay bail.

The farm has plenty of picnic tables if you choice to bring your own food. However, the food at Cherry Crest is delicious, so we always enjoy splurging. Nothing beats fresh squeezed lemonade and hot roasted kettle corn. The Chuck Wagon Cafe and Grill has mouth watering pulled pork. During the Fall season my boys loves to start off the day with fresh baked apple cider donuts and end the day with S’mores over a fire pit after the sun goes down.

I love that Cherry Crest is family owned and family focused. The owners think like parents do and know the importance of hospitality, convenience and wholesome family fun. From kid friendly music playing in the back ground to offering high chairs in the cafe they think of every detail. The weather was hot but they know the importance of hydration and staying cool. Giant fans/misters are placed through out the farm; additionally there are two shaded areas with hammocks to sit back and relax in.
