The Playful Parent

Our family is getting fired up about this years train extravaganza vacation with some pretty awesome destinations! Whether a train fanatic or not you will definitely want to stay tuned to hear all about this epic trip! We will be traveling up to Thomas Land at Edaville USA in Carver, MA and stopping at Lancaster, PA along the way. Our first stop will be at Strausburg Railroad to see everyone’s favorite #1 engine at A Day Out with Thomas. Than we will embark on our journey to Thomas Land, the theme park my boys have been dreaming about since it opened in August 2015.

Mattel and Edaville USA have teamed up to bring the first ever Thomas Themed park to America. We can’t wait to see the Island of Sodor come to life as we wait for Thomas’s arrival at Knapford station, explore Tidmouth Shed and hop on rides featuring our favorite characters. I can only imagine their little faces lighting up when they meet Sir Topemhat. My husband and I can’t wait to see what ride is the kids favorite…. Will they be more excited about bumping and bashing around on the trouble some trucks runaway roller coaster, putting out fires with Fiery Flynn or flying away on Harold’s Lift Off? There is so much to do at this theme park, we will definitely need two days to see it all; especially since Edaville USA is known for being the “home of three adventures!” The theme park has three sections: Edaville Proper, Thomas Land or Dino Land that total up to over 90 rides and attractions.

Preparing your kids for a trip is equally as important as booking the hotel or packing the bags. Even a leisure trip like traveling to a theme park can be educational and fun. Edaville makes this super easy with a whole page dedicated to preparing for your trip, visit this link for resources-

As Train Extravaganza 2016 approaches quickly; join me in a ten day count down to our journey! I will be covering sneak peaks to attractions, advice on planning for trips and resources for traveling with kids!
