There are a few reasons why I like to venture off to Cosca Regional Park in Clinton, Maryland; one being to get out and play at one of Maryland’s secret parks and two to stop at Miller Farm for tasty treats. We started the day off with a stop at Miller Farm for fresh baked donuts. There is nothing more scrumptious than handmade donuts. With so many flavors to choice from so it’s hard to just pick one!

After getting fueled up to play, we drove around the corner to Cosca Park. Since its cooler in the morning, we started off at the playground. My boys always get excited to explore this play ground because it is huge! Despite that there’s a lot of room to run around, I can still keep a good eye on both kids even if they play in different sections. Despite that this park has been around for a long time it is well maintained. Another positive is that whenever I go it’s not crowded. The one downside to this playground is that it isn’t shaded so it’s easy to get overheated on hot days. However, that being said; there are nature trails to explore so you can keep cool in the shade.

Next, we headed over to Clearwater Nature Center located within Cosca Regional Park. The area is so beautiful. We love following the trail up to the center; it’s so calming to be surrounded by nature. You can stop to view streams, small waterfalls and a pond with coy fish. The center is focused on environmental education and has a variety of interesting exhibits, displays, programs and special events. The nature center features a small indoor pond, live animal exhibits and hands on activities. You can exit through the back and explore more exhibits such as the birds of prey. Admission is free which is always a plus.

After our adventures at the park we popped back over to Miller Farm for lunch and some ice cream. The homemade soft served ice cream was the perfect treat for a sunny day! There market is also the perfect place to pick up fresh produces or even stunning flowers for your garden.
